What is the most recycled product in the US??

According to Scientific America (via Treehugger): "It's not aluminum cans--only half are recycled. Or even office paper, at more than 70 percent. It's the lead acid batteries from your car. More than 99 percent of such batteries wind up recycled, keeping toxic lead out of landfills and waterways." More than 99%! Metals are reclaimed from the batteries. However, do we understand where this recycling is done and under what conditions?

  1. I think that's because we barely every get rid of cars ourselves. We always bring them to a mechanic or an autobody shop, where they are officially pronounced dead.

Those people know what to do with car batteries and dispose of them accordingly.

You should do a post about re-filling ink cartridges instead of buying brand new ones. It's an even better option than recyling, since you actually re-use the empty cartridge. Any online site like 4inkjets.com will sell ink refill kits.
